B A R E: Italy's Little Secret: Sabine Hills of Lazio (Torri in Sabina & Rochete)

Location:    Torri in Sabina, Italy About: One of my favourite things about travelling is being able to visit remote places that I have only heard from a few to exist. Being a Filipino living in the UK,  hearing about the Sabina region of Italy sounded like a honeypot filled with unknown beauty and endless possibilities of getting in touch with nature... And it was not short of honey! Torri in Sabina is a commune in the middle of the Province of Rieti. There are over 8,000 communes in Italy, btw! The emergence of communes around Italy has a complex history. Still, if I get it (slightly) right, I think communes form their individual government, while communes are more common in Northern and Central Italy. Based on my visit, if I were to describe what a commune is, they are like little villages with distinct geographical distances. B A R E: The Olive Dreamscape in the Heart of Sabina

Location:   Torri in Sabina, Italy About: In the Summer of 2019, we have had the pleasure of  being invited to the beautiful Italian country home of artist Shaun McDowell. The house itself is an ongoing project with great potential so we were quite lucky to have stayed there before all the renovation work started as we looked after Shaun's Segugio Maremmano called Vincent and the enchanted cat called Bella. Located in the heart of the Sabine region, logistically speaking, it is quite straightforward to get to via Rome - just a train ride away!    Imagine being on a hill topped with olive trees, untamed grasses and daisies as the bright yellow Mediterranean sun swoons over the hills. The hot weather was fervent yet the wind was gusting of fresh gleeful breeze. The rooftop was my favourite spot of the house as you get the 360 O  view of the entire vicinity whilst sipping wine - just pure bliss under the sun!  And just afte
